Throughout your daily life, it is entirely normal to have many strong emotions, ranging from sadness and anxiety to frustration and anger. When it gets really intense, it might be a good idea to reach out for help. The following assessment will help you do just that. It is not meant to diagnose you. What it does is let you know if you may be in distress and if you should get some help to cope with your mental health. Don’t worry, it’s not a ‘quiz’ and you won’t be graded on it.
Here’s how it works: there are ten questions and you click on one of five responses for each question. That’s it! Then you’ll see at the bottom to see if…
1) You are not in current need of help, but it might be helpful to browse the Toolkit for ways to cope or;
2) You might benefit from reaching out for help and resources or;
3) It is probably a good idea to reach out for help right now – and we’ll link to resources that are available 24/7 so you can get the support you need.
Are you ready? Here we go!
* This Distress quiz was created by a Registered Psychologist Dr. Dana Wasserman and Dr. Chris Richardson, Research Associate and Scientist at the University of British Columbia.
